This week, the concept of TIME and SEASONS as we stepped into Spring were a really highlighted theme for me. It took me back to just over 10 years ago when I was in Tokyo and it was fascinating at that time, standing by the train station and watching the BULLET train arriving and departing at the exact time that it was scheduled for. One thing I learnt in Japan was the importance of Time and their attention to keeping TIME. One minute of hesitation or uncertainty of whether it was the right train to get on and ZOOM, off it went! You would find the train GONE and there was absolutely nothing you could do about it!

One thing that being mindful of time does stir up within one is that you are forced to always be attentive to what is happening around you. You recognise the seasons and notice the changes in the environment around you and when an anomaly or curious situation presents itself, it is a SIGNAL that there is either an OPPORTUNITY or a THREAT presenting itself and if you are wise, you need to position yourself strategically to BENEFIT or THRIVE from the SITUATION.

I love the wisdom of King Solomon in the Living Translation version Ecclesiastes 9 vs 11 which states I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skilful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. The King James version says; I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

This powerful quote is a simple reminder that is is never really about striving hard in this life that will make things happen for you than it is more about paying attention to the opportunities that present themselves to you and to be found doing the right thing when that time arises. To constantly stay alert in the normal hum drum of our lives, paying attention to new connections, associates, scenarios in our lives as they may very well be the window of breakthrough opportunity that has been brought your way to change the Routine rut of your situation and transform your story. When you look at some of most successful people or those who have accomplished what they desired in this world, they were going about their ordinary day to day lives, doing what they do with excellence until one day they were simply spotted by a talent scouter, the man or woman of their dreams, that key business angel who literally took their Game to the next level. The recent story of a Nigerian Bread Hawker who accidentally had her photo shot whilst she was going about her business is a typical example of how this natural gorgeous woman won a modelling contract that changed her destiny and that of her future generations to come by just being always ready, dressed beautifully, going about her day to day life. Having your eyes open to the changes that surround you is key if you are not going to miss your blessing. And when that door opens, Walk through! You may never be given such a Great opportunity that will literally transform your life again!

Today I pray that you may be given the eyes to be able to perceive who is who around you and to ascertain the Divine connections, situations and partners that have been sent your way to change your GAME. Your future husband or wife may be connected to someone you already know, your future employer may live down your street, you could meet that promoter that will take your business to another level at your son’s football match on Saturday and that recent chaotic situation at work may be your opportunity to be promoted. May you not miss your season and time of opportunity and may you not allow the mistakes and disappointments of the past stop you from moving ahead boldly! There is nothing worse than saying in years to come, that could have been me, I had that same opportunity too.

There is an open door before you that no man can shut, Walk through! Grab it! Seize the opportunity! Jump on the train!
